On July 9, 2014, a man in a FedEx uniform knocked on the door of a house in Sprint, Texas. Minutes later, six members of the Stay family were dead but one was not. The intruder however, didn't know this. 15-year-old Cassidy played d**d, waited for the man to leave, and then called 911.
This single act of courage prevented ever further family deaths.
None of this though would have happened if this man wasn't free to do what he wanted. Years of domestic abuse orders, years of falling through the cracks, all led up to this moment.

On April 7, 2008, Kathleen and Carl Schroll were found shot to death in their Kansas City, Kansas home. Within hours, a man named Pete Coones was arrested—and within months, he was sentenced to life in prison. What followed was more than a wrongful conviction. It was a case that exposed the deep cracks in a justice system where evidence was buried, witnesses were manipulated, and police were protected by silence.

On July 10, 1981, in the tiny town of Skidmore, Missouri, a man climbed into his pickup truck along with his wife and then...shot in broad daylight in front of dozens of witnesses. The man was Ken Rex McElroy, a local terror with a long rap sheet, a history of violence, and a reputation for evading justice. After it was over, no one called for help. No one admitted to seeing the shooter. No one was ever charged.
In this episode, we take you through the chilling events of that day, the decades of intimidation that led up to it, and the silence that followed. Was this murder—or vigilante justice? What happens when a community feels abandoned by the legal system and takes matters into its own hands?

The Ouija Board Made Me Do It
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
Tuesday Apr 22, 2025
💬 Have you used a Ouija board or one of the apps? Tell us your story in the comments.
In this episode, you'll hear about an object that has fascinated and terrified people for generations: the Ouija Board and the crimes that this board encouraged people to commit.
You'll hear about the dark history and infamous cases linked to the Ouija board—from its spiritualist roots after the Civil War to its transformation into a pop culture icon (and alleged gateway to evil), we explore real-life stories where the board played a central role in shocking crimes, bizarre behaviors, and even courtroom drama.
Hear about the 1933 case of Mattie Turley, who claimed the board told her to kill her father; the chilling 2001 murder involving Carol Sue Elvaker; the bizarre story of a 16-year-old satanist; the AWOL Army intelligence officers guided by Ouija messages; and the infamous “Zozo” demon legend.
Plus, we look at how modern apps carry the board's spirit (or curse) into the digital age.
Are these stories proof of supernatural influence, or just tragic excuses? Listen with an open but skeptical mind—and decide for yourself.
